The Philadelphia 76ers are finally getting it right

I want to congratulate the Philadelphia 76ers for finally having a good week last week. I know I am a little late to the party but I have a good reason for that.
I didn’t get a chance to blog towards the end of last week (I will get to that in a minute) because part of my brain was in shock. The 76ers had a week when they did not one BUT TWO things right!
Holy crap, maybe the end is nearer than I thought. The 76ers dumped the pathetic loser Samuel Dalembert who was more concerned about making money than playing basketball, he also admitted publicly to hating the sport that has paid him so well. To sum it up he is a lazy ass dingle berry that the Sixers somehow wanted to keep trying to develop (and pay handsomely).
This is the douche bag which got cut from the Canadian National Team in preparation for the Olympics because of his terrible attitude and work ethic. The thing that shocked me the most about this little revelation was the fact that Canada has a basketball team (ZING!!!)
Sixers’ nation has been calling for the trading of or release of Dalembert since four minutes after he was drafted. Seriously, this guy was the most frustrating part of the franchise the last decade.
They actually got two nice pieces for him too! They are not long term pieces of the puzzle but they are something to evaluate this year. Fans would have been excited to get a Carvel Ice Cream Cake (who wouldn’t) and a box full of used condoms for Dalembert and to be honest the Sixers would have made out in that deal.
The best part about all of this is the Sacramento Kings were pursuing him! They actually coveted this anal wart! Congrats Sacramento! Enjoy Samuel Dalembert! This is just bolstering my case that Sacramento shouldn’t be a city anymore.
Secondly, the 76ers didn’t over-analyze the draft and they went with the right choice of Evan Turner. There were reports that the Sixers were thinking of taking Derrick Favors.
Favors may be a stud down the road (then again he might not). They needed to put asses in the seats and a project like Favors wouldn’t have done that – Evan Turner sparks a little fire in the fan base and in my humble opinion will be the best fit for the Sixers.
The Sixers now have a back court pairing that will be around for the next 10 years. Pairing Jrue Holiday with Evan Turner gets Walt excited. I am not talking about excited in my pants as if I am about to have sex for the first time this year, but it is pretty similar.
So congratulations to the 76ers you are finally done pooping all over your fan base!
The next thing the 76ers need to do is trade Andre Iguodala. I really like AI. I think he is a great asset, not at the current rate he is getting paid though.
If the Sixers can get a complimentary few pieces to the puzzle or a few expiring contracts back, that would be awesome.
That would open the door to them being in the Carmelo Anthony Sweepstakes, next summer! AI is not a number one, he is a number two. He deserve better than he has been getting and would be a great addition to a team that is actually close to competing for a championship.
He also gets in the way of Evan Turner developing the proper way so he needs to get traded.
I am not delusional here. The NBA needs the Knicks and Sixers to be more competitive, it is the greater good of the NBA for these franchises to be good.
I am curious to see who the Knicks and Nets land in this summer’s free agency. I have a feeling they are both going to be disappointed. That development coupled with the Celtics getting older (and they are going to lose Ray Allen) leads to the future of the division being wide open.
The Sixers needed to get younger and they need the correct pieces in place. Getting rid of Dalembert, drafting Holiday last year, adding Lou Williams to the mix, drafting Evan Turner are steps in the right direction.
I know they cannot get rid of Elton Brand. I have to tell you that I was excited when they signed him. I know his potential has dwindled, but if they can get him back to 85% of what he was and he can contribute a double-double on a nightly basis, I am fine with that.
The Doug Collins hiring is pretty good too. I like the fact that he is defensive oriented and how he waits to see the talent on the roster before implementing an offense.
In reality, the next crucial move needed to be made: Thaddeus Young needs to get his head out of his ass and start contributing like he should be.
The Sixers should be able to run and gun with the best of them. Size may be an issue, but they should be able to score again!
Okay, as I stated earlier I did not get a chance to blog towards the end of last week. There was a legitimate reason: I really do think Wifesense is trying to kill me.
We just had a patio put in last week and we had to dig up the grass around it to build a flower bed. I have had 4 consecutive weekends of hard ass manual labor after not doing manual labor for the previous 33 years of my life.
I am down to 226 pounds. I am practically wilting away to nothing!
I am serious, I woke up last night and Wifesense removed the pillows from under my head and replaced them with a wheel barrow and an extension cord and she was standing over me with this glazed look in her eyes mumbling about how galvanized nuts and bolts were on sale at Sears Hardware.
She had me digging up the backyard on the hottest two days of the year and I all had to show for it was a severe case of heat exhaustion and blistered up hands.
As I was lying on the floor of the shower yesterday afternoon, I look up and noticed a shadowy figure throwing top soil and grass seed on top of me as the cold water splashed me in the face.
I couldn’t figure out who it was, but I heard a sinister laugh. I am scared for my life.
I overheard Wifesense talking to her friend Ali about how she wants me to build a mausoleum next to the swing set we just built.
I do not know what to do. I may have to start a support group for husbands who are forced into manual labor and treated like mules. We could serve carrots as a snake at the meeting as a symbol.
I don’t know if it is normal or not, but I woke up this morning with a Mexican accent.
Until next time folks!

Ed Stafanski made two of the worst moves ever - maybe worse then King with AI and Brand Contract. Everyone inside basketball knew Sal hated basketball and everyone knows Brand was washed up after 100 knee surgies - but these brilliant basketball people (i'm serious they know their crap) somehow make the worst decision.
Thankfully most of Waltsense fans like Eagles, Phillies then Flyers ....and then Sixers....but i am sure a winning season can get them popular again.
1. Eagles
2. Phillies
3. Sixers
4. Penguins
I have closely watched the 76ers for years, analyzed their rosters and decision making since their fall from respectability early this decade, and I keep coming back to one huge personnel mistake the Sixers organization made - they let "Little G" go with out resigning him. He went on to live his life in the lap of luxury only few of us would ever obtain:

Like most Canadians, I don't know squat about basketball, but I do know that Dalembert must be one sorry-ass loser if the Canadian team got rid of him! We don't get rid of anybody, hell we even let Celine keep coming back into the country.
Yes Walt, we have a basketball team AND are you ready: a football team!! Our league up here is known as the CFL.
Your random thought:
"Should you trust a stockbroker who's married to a travel agent?"
That is just too funny!! I get such a good giggle out of them!!
