March Madness 2010 - Kansas Style Baby

Walt got up at 4:30 AM this morning.  Our youngest son is teething like a bastard and had a rough night.  I can’t even begin to imagine that sort of pain.

Our pediatrician said if adults went through the teething process they would have to be sedated.  That isn’t a bad idea; being sedated sounds awesome.

I would have to call out for at least a month and I am always looking for a reason to call out.  I may have to regenerate my top reasons to call out blog that I did a while back.

Any who, I woke up from my slumber and I couldn’t fall back to sleep so I went to this crappy little running track by our house and went for a run.  It felt great.  I cruised four miles and I could have gone more.

So I got home, showered up, washed the old ball sack; shaved, combed my awesome head of hair and for some stupid reason, I laid back down in bed.

I woke up about 25 minutes later snuggling with my little guy and I didn’t want to be anywhere else in the world.

Then I remembered I had to be in the city by 9AM and it was already after seven.  I still had to drop the kids off at school.

My day has been crazy ever since.

So I dropped the kids off and had to drive into the stupid city to get in on time.  So what does Walt do?  He polishes off 2 packs of fudge Pop Tarts on the ride in, negating any form of calorie burn off from my run/walk in the process.

They were delicious!

I flew into work today too.  It was so nice out that I decided to drive with the window down.  Now the hair on the left side of my head is sticking straight up with no way to get it down.  I still look fabulous though, sort of like a chubby white Gumby.

This may have been the best day so far this month.

My March has been maddening.  Living up to the name of March Madness.  Snow, shoveling, rain, leaving my car windows down, more rain, kids crying, working like crazy, a very talkative wifesense, more kids crying.  It has been a crazy month to say the least.

I have been up in New York working on a project where I had no clue what I was doing.  I am a pretty good bullshitter, but to have to pull off bullshitting for almost two straight months is pushing it; it is exhausting.

I had to carry a dictionary with me so I could continue to throw out as many big words as I could to impress the hell out of people.

I didn’t give a poop if the big words were used out of context, they still sounded awesome.

For example:  “I went through the repository of information provided and I can exacerbate the details of information through major collaboration if the influx of contusions is proper, efficient and effective.”

That shit always work like a charm!

If I got caught up in not being able to answer a key question; I would just silently fart and nod my head at the girl sitting next to me, so everyone thought this girl had a gas problem.

The conversation instantly would change to potty humor and I got off the hook.  The lesson boys and girls – timing your farty-pants is the key to success.

After all this Personal Maddening March stuff, March Madness begins (which is my favorite time of year)  Temple gets a fucking five seed and has to play a tough ass Cornell team.  How did they get a 5 seed and Wisconsin get a 4 seed in the same bracket?  That may be the biggest insult known to man!

Temple gets themselves in the sweet 16 this year.  They have kids that can drive the ball and they have big men that can play the game.  They are no joke.

They may struggle with Cornell but they will squeak that one out and absolutely destroy.

I support all Big Five Schools but Temple has always been my favorite.  Of the Big Five Schools; Villanova has the best chance at making a run to the Final Four.

I am so excited and happy this time of year, sort of like a Little Asian Kid getting an alien up the butt happy.

I like Kansas to win it all.  I wouldn’t be shocked if Kentucky won it all though.  John Walls and DeMarcus Cousins are NBA bound, so this is their one true shot to pull a Carmello Anthony in the tournament.  Neither one acts like a true freshman.

My Final Four is Kansas, Pitt, Kentucky and Villanova with Kentucky and Kansas in the finals.  Kansas prevails and covers the spread in the process.

I am excited!  Too bad my idiot step brother planned his wedding for this Friday the holy day of NCAA tournament days.  My friends will be wrecked and knee deep in nectar and Walt will be sweating his balls off in a tuxedo.  Perfect!

If it is your step brothers wedding then that makes Heather your step sister. I am shocked that you are not always routing for West Virginia with that type of family love.

Can't wait to watch your kids tonight. You pianted a great picture of how well behaved they will be.

Finger Painting the living room should only take us up until I force them to rub my bunyuns..

Strange coincidence: My daughter's got a wisdom tooth coming in and it also hurts like a motherfucker. Hurts her, and me, because it's going to cost $900 to have an oral surgeon take it out. And how you manage to go from teething pain to basketball to a hot woman in a pink bikini amazes me, Walt. *bowing*
